April through May at IT Arsenal is all about Website Setup for Online Entrepreneurs and we're kicking things off by building context around 4 steps everyone makes to start a website and how to make the best ones. Once you have a site in place, all the tips and tricks...
Q&A: My husband just ordered and older iPhone for the first time. Right now we don’t use the internet at home (except on my phone), just at work and I only have one computer at my disposal for the time being. If I log out of iTunes and he logs in with his account can he sync up on my computer or do you have to use two different computers?
by Robert Granholm | Q&A
Each iTunes library can only have one iTunes account. You can start a new iTunes library by quitting iTunes and then holding Option and opening iTunes back up. You won't have any of the songs from the other library though, they are completely separate libraries. You...
Q&A: so after my macbook broke i decided to get a new imac, but i still really miss having something portable. how much do think i could get for a macbook with a busted logic board? i’d like to try to get rid of it or trade it for a new ipad. you think this seems plausible?
by Robert Granholm | Q&A
Hmm, a macbook with a busted logic board isn't going to get you much more than $2-300. I'd be impressed with more at least...check the "completed listings" section of ebay for real price ranges. Plausible though, ebay sometimes surprises. I have an iPad, they are...
Q&A: I have a quick question for you. I have a Mac Pro that i’ve had for about 1.5 years. I’ve always had it plugged into the internet and never realized if it had wifi or not. I just went to check now and I can’t figure out if I have a wireless card or not in my computer. For some reason, I thought that a wireless card was standard for a mac pro. How can I check. I have a wireless router at home (linksys) and i want to know if I can connect to it with my Mac or if need to buy something extra for it.
by Robert Granholm | Q&A
Heh, Mac pro's do not come with a wireless card, you'd need a wireless usb card...the Mac Pro is a professional grade computer, but usually for offices or "power users" who would always be plugged in so they don't include a wifi card with them. Something like this...
Q&A: I have just noticed that my wordpress username when I reply to a reader is “anth1892” (the beginning of my email address) and not my name, Anthony. It looks very unprofessional and I have been trying to change it but to no avail. How do I change how my WordPress usernames shows up?
by Robert Granholm | Q&A
Ahh, this one gets a few people. Log into your Wordpress backend and go to Users > Your Profile. There is an option there to change how your name shows up, either by username, or your full name, which is what I think you want.
Q&A: Question, will there be any problem uploading sample music tracks to these WordPress themes?
by Robert Granholm | Q&A
You won't have any problems with any of these themes...uploading a music file will be the same on pretty much any theme within Wordpress, it would involve the core application of Wordpress, and not really be related to theme. Wordpress is like the guts, the themes are...
Q&A: I have a client who wants to sell short videos on her website. The videos range in size from 113MB to 275MB. She is currently hosting them on her Blue Host Unlimited FTP. How can we link up the transaction with a e-mail list company like Aweber.
by Robert Granholm | Q&A
Here's the scenario: Customer sees a picture of her product on her WP webpage (https://pattyrose.com). I took her product page down yesterday, so you will not see it now. They click buy now (Paypal is integrated with AWeber) and pay for the video. AWeber sends a link...
Q&A: I registered my RSS feed through feedburner with a non gmail account. When I got a real google account, the two somehow merged — about the time that feedburner was acquired by Google. My feed became a zombie. I can’t claim it or get access, for example, edit the name of it (which should have changed). Do you have any idea how to reclaim a zombie feed? I’ve asked for help on the feedburner board at google and there doesn’t seem to be a real person there.
by Robert Granholm | Q&A
It might be lost in some account mess that needs an actual administrator to fix, which takes A LOT of pestering on the google boards. They do get scanned by Google employees, but getting live feedback is just something that isn't readily accessible by Google. They...
